Jason Kottke & Fried Rice

What I Learnt:

I stopped writing a long time ago. And then some time towards the end of 2023, I came across Jason Kottke’s post about the 52 things he learnt during the year. It was jaw dropping, fascinating, insightful and downright funny. Everything I hoped this blog would be, when I started way back in 2021.

And that is why I have decided to pick up my pen (figuratively) and give this another shot. Would love to come up with a similar list at the end of 2024.

Please believe me when I say that new year resolutions have nothing to do with this. Okay, maybe they do. But go with the flow. Come on. :-)

What I Like:

I love rice in most forms. Biryani, kichadi, pulao and a beautifully made fried rice. There is something so satisfying and comforting with a perfectly cooked fried rice dish. Like all the other mentioned dishes too, it is a meal in itself.

I will write a longer post about rice in general, and perhaps fried rice in particular, in the future. But the semi food coma I am in right now prevents me from doing justice.

PS - The one rice dish I DO NOT like is curd rice or thayir/thair sadam.

PPS - This post is dedicated to Archana Vaze and her brave and beautiful son.
