Sean Connery & Sibling Sword Scuffles

What I Learnt:

Sir Thomas Sean Connery passed away yesterday.

There have been enough eulogies written about him by people far more qualified than me, so I won’t even make the attempt.

While reading the eulogy on the BBC’s website, I came to know that he almost joined Manchester United as a professional footballer. He said turning it down was “One of my more intelligent decisions”.

Indeed.

What Made Me Happy:

My younger son whacked his elder brother with a plastic sword. A good mighty swing that caught him on the shoulder blade. Naturally, the recipient of the blow was both furious and in pain at the same time. When he went to retaliate, I saw him restrain himself at the very last minute.

I don’t know if it was because he knew I was watching. Or he if he looked into his 2 year old brother’s eyes and realised that there was no malice. Or if he just was able to control his ‘bad wolf’.

Whatever it was, I am so happy he was able to control his first impulse.
